Village Vosne-Romanee from the Lamarche family's domaine, now firmly in the Nicole Lamarche era. Nicole took the reins in 2006 (the label was officially renamed for the 2018 vintage) and has continued the move toward a more precise, biodynamically-influenced style while maintaining the domaine's standing as one of the few owners of a Vosne Grand Cru monopole, La Grande Rue. The 2017 vintage offered classical balance, and this village wine, partially whole-cluster fermented, captures the perfume that makes Vosne the queen of the Cote de Nuits. At eight years out, tannins have softened and the aromatic complexity is opening up. Burgundy at its most quietly Vosne.

Perfect Pairings

A natural with roast duck breast, coq au vin, mushroom-stuffed quail, or a classic boeuf bourguignon. Also wonderful with morel-cream sauces, aged Comte, or a simple herb-roasted chicken with pan jus.

Tasting Profile

Medium-bodied, perfumed and finely textured. Red cherry, raspberry and a Vosne-typical mint lift over rose petal, sweet earth and a mineral spine. Tannins are silky-fine, acidity bright, the finish lifted and gently spicy. Drinking well now with room to evolve.
