The most immediately drinkable wine Las Pedreras makes, and the best way into what high-altitude Gredos Garnacha is about — glou-glou in spirit without giving up complexity. The fruit comes from a set of separate parcels scattered across the Alto Alberche villages on decomposed granite, between roughly 900 and 1,200 meters, each vinified according to what it needs: some fermented whole cluster, some fully destemmed. Aging happens in a mix of stainless steel and old French oak, so the wine stays pure-fruited and radiant rather than oaky. Bárbara Requejo and Guzmán Sánchez founded the estate in 2020 and farm just over three hectares organically and dry-farmed, hard, backbreaking mountain work in a region that had nearly been abandoned before producers like Comando G brought it back. Serve it with a slight chill and it is about as good as summer red gets.
