Baby Brunello from the cradle of Brunello — and a wine so juicy and graceful you'll find it hard to put the glass down. Le Chiuse is the historic north-Montalcino estate now run by Lorenzo Magnelli, great-great-grandson of Ferruccio Biondi-Santi himself. The family supplied fruit to the Biondi-Santi Riservas until 1990 before turning their north-east Montosoli vineyards into their own label. The Rosso comes from larger clusters off the same beloved Sangiovese parcels as the Brunello, vinified for freshness and aged about 13 months in large Slavonian botte. The 2024 is silky, perfumed, immediate — a serious early-drinking Sangiovese from one of the most pedigreed addresses in the appellation. Pull the cork tonight; few weeknight reds offer this much soul.

Perfect Pairings

A Tuesday-night red of real pedigree. Pizza margherita, tagliatelle al ragù, roast chicken, grilled lamb skewers, Pecorino with honey, or charcuterie boards. Lightly chilled in summer, it sings with tomato-based pasta.

Tasting Profile

Wild berries, violets, crushed raspberry and pressed cherry skin lift over hints of cinnamon, dust and pressed powder. The palate is juicy and silky-smooth, with crunchy red-fruit acidity, gentle tannin and an elegant, savoury close.
