From Switzerland-born winemakers who rescued Antonio Cerri's historic vineyard in Boca (Piemonte), Mimmo is a poignant tribute to Christoph Kunzli's collaborator. A blend of 65% young-vine Nebbiolo with 30% Croatina and 5% century-old Vespolina from volcanic soils, the wine ferments spontaneously over 30 days and ages in tonneaux before bottling unfiltered and unfined. Dense and concentrated, it shows blackberry, cherry, tobacco, and spice with a velvety, mineral finish—a meditation on the terroir and generosity of the old-vineyard regime.

Swiss wine importer Christoph Künzli arrived in Piedmont's Alto Piemonte region and fell in love. Le Piane, now eight hectares, makes Boca DOC (Nebbiolo-Vespolina blends) and focuses on the local Croatina grape. Some parcels are 100 years old. Rare, serious, worth the hunt.
