Les Bottes Rouges represents the creative partnership of Jean-Baptiste Menigoz and Florien Kleine Snuverink, who craft natural wines in the Arbois region of Jura with a focus on expression and authenticity. The 'Pollock's' cuvée is a white wine made from Chardonnay grown on gray Lias marl—the same limestone substrate that gives Jura's great Chardonnays their distinctive minerality and freshness. At just-released 2023, this wine captures the vintage's brightness and precision: citrus, white stone fruit, and the saline minerality that characterizes Jura's limestone soils. The wine's natural fermentation and minimal sulfite additions allow its pure terroir character to shine. Drinking beautifully now as an aperitif or paired with light cuisine, this wine exemplifies the exciting, expressive winemaking that natural wine producers are pioneering in Jura.
