Louis Boillot, known for his meticulous vineyard work and restrained winemaking, has crafted a 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin that beautifully expresses the village’s power and structure while maintaining an elegant, detailed profile. Sourced from old vines across multiple parcels, this wine captures both the muscularity of Gevrey and the finesse that defines Boillot’s style.

Dark cherry, wild raspberry, and blackcurrant form the core, layered with notes of forest floor, black tea, and subtle spice. The palate is structured yet balanced, with firm but polished tannins and a mineral-driven backbone that gives precision and length. Compared to the more brooding, tannic expressions of Gevrey, Boillot’s version leans into refinement, making it a superb candidate for both early drinking and long-term cellaring.

Pair this 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin with roast duck, mushroom dishes, or aged Comté. While approachable now with a decant, it will continue to evolve gracefully over the next 10–15 years, gaining further complexity and depth. A benchmark Gevrey from one of Burgundy’s most skilled hands.

Focus On: Burgundy

Burgundy has long been the world's most famous wine region. But, underneath all the prestige, this region can be hard to get to know.

While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!

From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
everything you need to know about Bourgogne is just a click away!
