Burghound

95 points

"(From 90+ year old vines that are worked by horse). In contrast to the nose of the Clos de la Roche, this is notably more floral and more elegant with ripe yet higher-toned aromas of essence of red pinot fruit that combines with subtle spice and warm earth nuances. There is a velvety mouth feel yet good precision to the wonderfully rich flavors that possess a high level of phenolic maturity before terminating in a refined, pure and delicately balanced finish. An exercise in harmony and grace. In two words, absolutely stunning."

Antonio Galloni

96 points

"Bright medium-deep red. Multidimensional, slightly high-toned aromas and flavors of sappy cherry, allspice, rose petal and blood orange. Silky and creamy in an old-vine way yet almost magically penetrating too thanks to powerful minerality. This savory, dense wine saturates the mouth with perfume and the extremely long finish stains the palate with spice oils and crushed stone. Almost shockingly approachable for young Clos Saint-Denis, but this wine has the concentration, balance and structure for a long life in bottle." —Stephen Tanzer

More about Louis Jadot

Founded in 1859, Jadot is one of Burgundy's great estates and négociants, with 600 acres scattered across the region's best vineyards—Chablis to Moulin-à-Vent. They make hundreds of wines, but each bottle carries the iconic Bacchus emblem and the weight of nearly two centuries of accumulated wisdom. Burgundy without the pretension.
