A dry Willamette Valley Pinot Noir from McKinlay Vineyards, which is a good reason on its own to pull a bottle. The Willamette Valley is Oregon's Pinot Noir heartland, a long valley running south from Portland. It has spent decades proving that American Pinot can be about freshness and place rather than sheer power. "Mesa" is Spanish for "table," a fitting name for a bottle you'll want to open on an ordinary weeknight rather than save. The 2023 vintage is the one to reach for now.
