Meo-Camuzet is one of the great names of the Cote de Nuits, based in Vosne-Romanee and famously shaped early on by the counsel of the legendary Henri Jayer. Charmes-Chambertin is a Grand Cru in the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin—one of the larger, more generous of Gevrey's grand crus, known for combining power with a certain plushness. In Meo's hands the wine aims for that signature balance of structure, concentration, and charm. The 2019 was a celebrated, ripe vintage, so this is rich and built for the cellar. Pinot Noir of real seriousness; give it years, or decant generously if you open it young.
