The Meroi estate was founded in 1920 by Domenico Meroi in Buttrio, in the heart of Friuli's Colli Orientali. Now run by great-grandson Paolo, the estate has earned recognition for crafting some of Italy's most complex white wines from their nearly 50 acres of organically-farmed vineyards. The defining characteristic of this terroir is "ponca"—a unique blend of marl and sandstone from ancient Eocene seas that imparts distinctive mineral complexity. This Sauvignon comes from vines over 30 years old, fermented with native yeasts and aged 8-12 months in French oak barriques. The result is opulent but balanced: ripe pineapple, citrus, and cream on the nose, with a beautiful creaminess on the palate that maintains freshness despite its richness. Friuli has earned its reputation for world-class whites, and Meroi demonstrates why.

It's soft and round with mineral depths to balance as tropical citrus tones slowly saturate. This leaves a spicy sensation and the cheeks puckered while tapering off with medium length.
