“La Vigne de Mademoiselle” is one of Michel Gahier’s signature single-parcel Trousseaus, and perhaps his most elegant. Grown on limestone-marl soils just outside Arbois, this plot yields a lighter, finer expression of Jura’s earthy red grape.

The 2023 vintage was farmed organically and fermented naturally, as always with Gahier. The wine is aged in old oak barrels and bottled unfined, unfiltered, with minimal sulfur. This is Jura winemaking at its most transparent: no makeup, just grape and place.

Compared to Gahier’s “La Vigne de Louis,” this bottling is slimmer and more perfumed, with notes of red currant, cranberry, rose petal, and white pepper, plus a faintly herbal, foresty undertone. The tannins are barely there—soft but present—and the whole thing finishes with lift and a little edge.

Serve it cool and treat it like a light-bodied Cru Beaujolais or a rustic red Burgundy with mountain roots. This is Jura for Pinot lovers—and one of the most graceful expressions of Trousseau out there.
