A Bourgogne Blanc drawn from eight parcels of old Chardonnay vines, all of them on Puligny-Montrachet terroir, planted in calcareous clay and silty clay. It is named for Vincent Leflaive, Olivier's uncle, who built Domaine Leflaive's reputation and died in 1993. The grapes are hand-picked and whole-cluster pressed, both fermentations happen in oak, and the wine spends 15 months in cellar, five of them in stainless steel and the rest in barrel with 15% new wood. 2024 was a brutal growing season in Burgundy, with April frost, relentless mildew pressure and a tiny crop, but a sunny August rescued the Chardonnay and the whites came in classic: citrus and orchard fruit with brisk acidity. Serve it lightly chilled and it will happily stand in for bottles wearing much grander labels.

"The 2024 Bourgogne Blanc Oncle Vincent comes from plots in Puligny-Montrachet, raised intentionally in a percentage of new oak for 15 months, then six months in stainless steel. The nose is light but pretty, saline with touches of sea spray and citrus peel; not long but fresh and chalky in style." —Neal Martin
