Old-school Jura Trousseau from a true polyculture farm, where the family raises dairy cows for Comté and grows cereals right alongside the vines. Domaine Overnoy-Crinquand sits in Pupillin, the spiritual home of the grape, and has farmed organically since the 1990s, well ahead of the curve. Run by fourth-generation brothers Mickaël and Romaric, the estate sells most of its wine straight from the cellar door, which keeps it under the radar. The Trousseau comes off clay-limestone soils studded with pebbles, the perfect site for this delicate, perfumed red. Light in color but anything but simple, this is a pale, savory, food-loving Jura red for drinkers who love Loire and Beaujolais.
