What is this wine?

Domaine Parent, based in Pommard and run by sisters Anne and Catherine Parent, has a history dating back to the 17th century. While best known for their reds, they also produce small amounts of white Burgundy from Chardonnay. This Monthélie Blanc comes from vineyards on the slopes near Meursault and Volnay, offering a fine-value expression of Côte de Beaune terroir. The 2020 vintage was warm yet balanced, yielding ripe but fresh wines.

Why get this wine?

Monthélie remains an under-the-radar appellation, offering Côte de Beaune character at accessible prices. With Domaine Parent’s long-standing reputation for quality and the finesse of the 2020 vintage, this bottle represents excellent value for those seeking white Burgundy with freshness, substance, and classic style without the premium of Meursault or Puligny.

What does this wine taste like?

Fresh and mineral, with citrus and white orchard fruit layered with floral notes and a touch of hazelnut. The palate is medium-bodied, precise, and lively, finishing with subtle creaminess and stony lift.

When should you drink this wine?

Ideal for drinking now through 2026. Serve with seafood, poultry, or creamy pasta dishes. A short decant enhances aromatic expression.
