Perkins Harter, founded in 2018 by Shelby Perkins and husband Peter Harter, represents the next generation of boutique Oregon winemakers. The Bracken Vineyard sits perched on western benchlands of the Eola-Amity Hills at 630-750 feet elevation, biodynamically and organically farmed on volcanic soils. While Pinot Meunier remains a secondary grape in Oregon (more familiar from Champagne), Perkins Harter recognizes its potential in this distinctive site. The 2024 vintage remains in barrel, resting before bottling. When released, this will represent an exciting exploration of a lesser-known Pinot variant grown on a benchmark Willamette Valley site—a wine for those seeking to explore Oregon's expanding varietal range.

More about Perkins Harter

Shelby Perkins was a nuclear waste lawyer before she became a winegrower in the Eola-Amity Hills of Oregon. She works primarily with Bracken Vineyard grapes, making old-school, minimal-intervention, classic wines. All fermentations are natural, no filtration, low to no sulfur depending on vintage. She also provides grapes to other craft producers (Twill, Violin, Walter Scott, David Paige). The wines taste like they know exactly who they are and couldn't care less if you agree.
