Top-flight Gevrey-Chambertin terroir from a sharp younger negociant. Maison Pierre Brisset, founded in 2014, sources rare premier and grand cru parcels across the Cote de Nuits and Cote de Beaune and vinifies them with care. Combe aux Moines (here Combes Aux Moines) is one of Gevrey's most highly regarded premier crus, sitting high on a cool, stony combe that gives wines real power and structure. The 2017 was a generous, charming Burgundy vintage with plenty of fruit. Drinking well now with several good years ahead. A short decant helps.
