At the moment, there is simply no better value in Muscadet, and maybe the whole of the Loire Valley, than Domaine Gadais. This comes from vines planted in 1947 on the famous Gras Mouton vineyard (heads up Pépière fans). This spends a minimum of 26 months aging on the full lees in glass-lined underground tanks. There is beautiful texture and incredible length on offer here. Delicious today, this will continue to develop beautifully for the next 5-15 years. Mineral, citrusy, and full of tension.

More about Pierre-Henri Gadais

Fifth-generation Muscadet vigneron making true Loire tradition. Pierre-Henri studied in Burgundy and worked across the wine world—Australia, Switzerland, Pomerol, Sancerre—before returning to Saint-Fiacre in 2016. His focus is Muscadet Sèvre-et-Maine, the wine his grandfather helped pioneer in the 1950s. Fresh, mineral, alive—the Loire's conscience in a glass.

LEARN

Loire Valley Wines

The Loire Valley is France’s greatest source of value for anyone looking for elegant, terroir-driven wines. Our collection celebrates the region’s great diversity, with the mineral-driven whites of Muscadet and Sancerre, the beautiful Chenin Blancs and Cabernet Francs from villages like Vouvray and Chinon, and natural wines from everywhere in the region. Sometimes wonderfully fresh and gulpable, sometimes serious and age-worthy, the prices are always very reasonable.
