A living snapshot of an old Burgenland vineyard, harvested and fermented all at once. Prieler's 'Kalkterrassen' is a Gemischter Satz — a field blend of Pinot Blanc, Grüner Veltliner, Sauvignon Blanc and Welschriesling co-planted and picked together on limestone terraces above Lake Neusiedl. It's the old Austrian way of farming, before growers separated their vineyards by grape, and it produces a white with more complexity than any single variety could manage alone. Fermented and raised in stainless steel, it stays bright, unoaked and mineral, the different grapes weaving together into something fresh and whole. An easy, characterful pour that punches well above its station.
