Blaufränkisch is Austria's answer to great red, and Prieler is one of its finest interpreters. This Leithaberg DAC bottling is the estate's benchmark red, grown on the Leithaberg's mica-schist and marine-limestone soils above Lake Neusiedl, where warm Pannonian air meets cool ground. The style is purist: temperature-controlled fermentation, then long aging in seasoned oak and large casks where the wood shapes texture without ever showing its flavor — the goal is the grape and its soil, nothing more.
