David Ramey founded his cellars in 1996 after a Burgundian education that included a stint at Petrus, and he's become one of California's great Chardonnay craftsmen by applying old-world techniques to top Sonoma fruit. This Russian River bottling is his benchmark expression: barrel-fermented, aged on the lees, and built for balance rather than excess. Expect ripe orchard and citrus fruit, a creamy texture, and a savory, lees-driven complexity that lifts it well above the everyday. This is the half-bottle — perfect for a smaller pour.
