Restless River “Le Luc” Pinot Noir 2021 comes from a single, ocean-influenced site in the Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, where granite and clay soils and cool breezes shape wines with clarity and restraint. Fermented with native yeasts and aged in a mix of old and new oak, it’s a site-specific Pinot that favors purity over polish.
The 2021 vintage shows cranberry, raspberry, and red plum, with undertones of dried herbs, tea leaf, and flinty minerality. The texture is silky but taut, with fine tannins and a cool, savory finish. It’s a wine that evolves in the glass—more about finesse and length than flash or extraction.
Drink it with roast poultry, mushroom dishes, or just good conversation. A great bottle for Pinot fans looking beyond Burgundy, from one of South Africa’s most thoughtful producers.
