Riecine's flagship Sangiovese proves that IGT designation has nothing to do with quality. Hand-selected grapes macerate for 15–20 days in concrete tanks, then age 24 months in mixed tonneaux and another six months in bottle. The result is a muscular wine from limestone and clay terroir at 450–500 meters: firm, velvety tannins, dried cherry and raspberry, tobacco leaf, and an earthiness that begs for cellaring. Drink after 2026 and hold for years.

"In the bottle with the red wax capsule, the Riecine 2021 La Gioia is 80% Sangiovese supplemented with 20% Merlot. These results feel more open-knit, immediate and ultimately a bit more oxidative in delivery. Dark cherry and apricot with spicy acidity appear on the close.
