Rosewood Estates is a boutique family winery on Ontario's Beamsville Bench in Niagara, and Neptune is their distinctive single-vineyard Riesling, named for the Roman god of the sea. Whole-cluster pressed and fermented in neutral oak, with extended aging, the wine develops a notably rich, saline character that gives the bottling its name. This is cool-climate dry Riesling, taut and high-acid, with a green-apple and citrus core and a flinty edge. A serious, terroir-driven Canadian white. Drink now or cellar a few years.
