Pofadder is Cinsault from a slate-rich vineyard in Riebeeksrivier, planted in 1973. It’s named for the puff adder, common in these dry, rocky soils. Fermented with 30% whole clusters and aged in old wooden casks and concrete, the wine sees no fining or filtration, and only minimal sulfur.

The 2024 is bright and expressive, with soft tannins and early balance. Among the most delicate reds in Sadie’s Old Vine Series, it offers purity and structure in equal measure.
