Schone Tal is a family pico-winery in McMinnville, Oregon (German for beautiful valley) crafting tiny lots of unfined, unfiltered Pinot Noir with minimal intervention. Sohne, short for ihre treuen Sohne (their faithful sons), is their Pinot from the Hirschy Vineyard in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA, one of the Willamette Valley's marine-sedimentary gems. Hands-off winemaking and neutral oak let the site speak. The 2018 is a vibrant, mineral- and spice-tinged red made in vanishingly small quantities.
