A playful pun on a serious commitment: Stolpman's 'Love You Bunches' rosé celebrates the extra care given to grape bunches destined for carbonic fermentation. Founded in 1988 by Tom and Marilyn Stolpman after discovering limestone soils near the ocean in Ballard Canyon, Santa Barbara County, this vineyard represents terroir obsession. Peter Stolpman (Tom's son) took control in 2009, reclaiming vineyard acreage from grape sales to craft wines. Certified organic and biodynamic, the 220-acre property operates without herbicides, fungicides, or pesticides—all vine work done by hand. The 2025 Grenache rosé uses whole-bunch fermentation: grapes rest uncrushed for 12-24 hours as carbonic fermentation begins, absorbing just a touch of pigment and texture. The result: strawberry with cool, firm peach, breezy lemon-lime, lifting mint, light palate, and smooth finish with refreshing tang. An adventure in California rosé.

Tom and Marilyn Stolpman went looking for limestone near the ocean and in 1988 found it in Ballard Canyon, Santa Barbara County. Their son Pete joined in 2009 and turned a grape-selling vineyard into one of California's most exciting wineries. Syrah is the flagship, alongside Sangiovese, Trousseau, Roussanne and more, all farmed organically. The La Cuadrilla program gives the year-round vineyard crew their own block of vines and a share of production. The Love You Bunches wines are whole-cluster, no-sulfur, pure fun.
