Trediberri has gone from new-kid project to one of the most talked-about Barolo producers in a remarkably short time. Founded in 2007 when Nicola Oberto, his father Federico and family friend Vladimiro Rambaldi bought five hectares in the Berri sub-zone on La Morra's western edge — the name means "three from Berri" — the estate has become a reference for what young, energetic, terroir-driven Barolo can look like. The 2022 "Comune di La Morra" is largely Berri fruit (a cool, late-ripening sub-district), but because 2022 was hot and dry with low yields, the family folded in roughly 18% from their top site, Rocche dell'Annunziata. The result is a Barolo with all of La Morra's signature perfume and finesse but with serious mid-palate depth — cranberry, redcurrant, dried rose, pepper and brushwood, lifted by lively acidity and chiseled tannins.

"Aromas of iris, violet, fine tobacco blend and sun-warmed hay form the nose on the Trediberri 2022 Barolo del Comune di La Morra along with a whiff of leather. On the savory, already accessible and almost ethereal palate, velvety tannins accompany fleshy Morello cherry, nutmeg, star anise and rhubarb. Tangy acidity keeps it lifted.
