More about Villa Della Torre (Peaks & Valleys)

Peaks & Valleys sets out to map Verona's hills one soil at a time, putting volcanic Soave, limestone Soave and mountain Valpolicella side by side so you can taste how much ground matters. It is the newest project from Marilisa Allegrini, made with her daughters Carlotta and Caterina and with Master of Wine Andrea Lonardi as strategic advisor. The first wines, all from the 2024 vintage, debuted at Vinitaly in 2025. Villa della Torre, the family's 16th-century villa and estate in Valpolicella, is the group's home base.

The rules are simple: native grapes only, vineyards chosen for soil, exposure, altitude and vine age, and wines kept fresh, with alcohol around 12.5% or less. In Soave Classico, Fittà comes from Garganega on volcanic basalt at about 160 meters, on some of the steepest slopes in the denomination. Castelcerino sits higher, around 300 meters, on calcarenite limestone and brown clay, with vines more than 30 years old. Up in Fumane, Monte Lencisa is Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella grown at 450 meters on pink limestone and fermented semi-carbonically for a light, savory Valpolicella. All three are trained on the traditional pergola and aged in concrete tanks.
