Yes, Sancerre makes red, and in the right hands it's some of the Loire's most compelling Pinot Noir. Vincent Gaudry was the first Sancerre grower to earn Demeter biodynamic certification, and this bottling comes from old-vine plots in the famed hamlet of Chavignol, using a rare small-berried strain known as "pinot fin." Whole-cluster fermented with native yeasts and raised in used barrels, it's a delicate, terroir-driven red built on chalk. For anyone who thinks they know Sancerre, this is the plot twist.
