Quincy sits just west of Sancerre, on the left bank of the Cher River, and shares the Loire's devotion to Sauvignon Blanc and siliceous, gravelly soils. Vincent Siret-Courtaud is one of the appellation's quietly dedicated growers — farming traditional parcels and letting the terroir do the talking without intervention or elaboration. Quincy's gravel soils deliver a Sauvignon that is dryer and more austere than its neighbors, less showy, more stony. This is the Loire at its most laconic: pure, direct, and built for the table rather than the tasting room. If you love Sancerre but want to spend less and drink with more curiosity, Quincy is your answer.
