Walter Scott, Pinot Noir Sojeau Vineyard, 2022
is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
Sojeau Vineyard is perched on the cooler, windward edge of the Eola-Amity Hills, and it brings a distinct profile to Walter Scott’s lineup of site-specific Pinots. The volcanic soils and elevation (around 700+ feet) contribute to vivid aromatics, refined tannins, and racy natural acidity—a perfect match for the winery’s minimalist, terroir-focused approach.
The 2022 vintage offers up a beautifully perfumed nose of crushed raspberry, rose petal, dried herbs, and orange peel, followed by a palate that’s silky, spicy, and delicately structured, with fine-grained tannins and a persistent, mineral-driven finish. Fermented with partial whole clusters and aged in neutral and lightly used French oak, the wine shows depth without weight and complexity without flash.
Ideal for lovers of Burgundy-style Pinot with Oregon soul, this is a bottle that can be enjoyed now with a gentle decant, or cellared for 5–10 years to watch it deepen. Pair with herb-roasted poultry, mushroom dishes, or grilled salmon.
