XXVI Talhas is the project where friends from the village of Vila Alva brought Mestre Daniel's old Alentejo cellar back to life, working entirely with its 26 clay amphorae, the talhas the winery is named for. It's an ancient method, brought by the Romans, where grapes ferment right in the clay. Tareco Branco is the white, named in tribute to the home winemakers of Vila Alva who kept making wine in their own small clay pots. Made from traditional Alentejo white grapes, it's fresh and textured, with the gentle grip clay vessels lend. Honest, distinctive everyday white from one of Portugal's most authentic corners.
