Domestic Rosé in the WSJ!

Dear Friends,

After what feels like the longest winter and rainiest spring ever, it's finally rosé season—and I was delighted to see the Wall Street Journal's Lettie Teague dedicate last week's column to the incredible arsenal of pink wines made right here in the United States.

I was even happier to see some of our very favorite domestic producers in the spotlight (even if the lovely Jolie-Laide rosé is already sold out for the season!) This diverse list of rosés from America's top wine regions includes the gluggable, food-friendly, sophisticated, ageworthy, and just plain fun.

Our picks from Lettie's list are below, but we seized the opportunity to highlight all our domestic rosés, with discounting, for your browsing pleasure. Take them to the beach, to your next fancy wine dinner, on your next date, to your favorite BYO brunch. And the best news of all: you won't even break $25 with most of these wines. Tariffs? What tariffs?

Click the link below to shop the various collections and enjoy 15% off all wines, no discount code necessary. Here's to summer.

Cheers,
Julia

Let's start with Cali: here we have two A+ examples of why it's so exciting to be a California wine lover right now. From iconic Arnot-Roberts, who have been inspiring young winemakers for decades, a bottle that feels like a classic California Rosé, and yet it's only been made since 2010—and from three different Touriga Nacional sites at that. And from Martha Stoumen, one of the most exciting protégées of the Pax Mahle wine incubator, we have a Nero d'Avola Rosato that makes a serious case for Martha's love of the Sicilian grape.

Up north, we were so happy to see well-deserved praise from one of our favorite Oregon winemakers, Evan Martin, and his spectacularly fresh and expressive Cabernet Franc Rosé. Evan brought us a bottle of this as a sample back in March when he was in town to teach a seminar on our mezzanine, and we knew right away we had to preorder it for our shelves.

Arnot-Roberts, California Rose, 2024 $28.99 $25.50

Martha Stoumen, No. 2 Nero d'Avola Rosato, 2024 $37.99 $32.30

Martin Woods, Rose of Cabernet Franc, 2024
$26.99 $22.94

I've been saying it for nearly 20 years, but it's more true than ever: Amazing wine is being made right in our own backyard. A trio of staff and customer favorites here, starting with Channing Daughters and their spicy, irresistible Rosato di Cabernet Franc. Then there's the classic elegance of Hermann J. Wiemer's Dry Rosé, a Pinot Noir expression with gorgeous fresh berry and floral character. Finally, we have Red Tail Ridge's spin on the category. With irresistably juicy watermelon and black cherry notes and flecks of pepper thanks to its Cab Franc/Zweigelt cépage, this is the darkest rose in this offer, and it's gastronomic to be sure but surprisingly chuggable.

Channing Daughters, Rosato di Cabernet Franc, 2024 $22.99 $19.54

Hermann J. Wiemer, Finger Lakes Dry Rosé, 2024 $19.99 $16.99

Red Tail Ridge, Finger Lakes Dry Rosé, 2024
$21.99 $18.70
