Alvina Pernot is the new-generation Puligny name worth following. Granddaughter of Paul Pernot, she launched her own tiny domaine and small maison with her husband Philippe in 2018 after three years vinifying at the family estate. The Clos des Noyers Brets is a village-level Puligny lieu-dit that sits next to the couple's home — added to the range in 2020, pressed and raised in house, and an intimate snapshot of what this young domaine is about: restrained, classically built whites with detail rather than weight. The 2021 vintage was cool and bracing in the Côte de Beaune, the kind of year Puligny was built for, and this bottling shows the upright acidity and citrus drive that mark Pernot's emerging style.

Apple blossom commingles with Nashi pear, hints of oyster shell and a distant tang of sea spray.
