Traditional Barolo from Serralunga d'Alba—white calcareous-marly soils at 300-400 meters, south and southwest exposure. Giuseppe Boasso returned from World War II in the 1950s and resumed farming; the family began producing their own wine in the early 1970s. Sons Claudio and Ezio now oversee 4.5 hectares across five crus: Gabutti, Meriame, Lazzarito, Cerrati, and Le Tune. Aged 30 months in 20-year-old Slavonian oak botti—large barrels that let the wine speak, not the wood.

More about Boasso

Boasso is a tiny family winery in Serralunga d'Alba, with Franco Boasso and his sons Ezio and Claudio maintaining 4.5 hectares of Nebbiolo across prestigious crus like Gabutti and Margheria. They work traditionally—fermentation, then aging in medium-sized barrels—producing Barolo that's rooted in the land and the family's deep understanding of it. These are wines made like they've always been made in Barolo, by people who take their heritage seriously.
