Cornu-Camus is a small family domaine based in Echevronne, just above Pernand-Vergelesses, founded by Pierre Cornu (not to be confused with the neighboring Edmond Cornu) and now run by his daughter Lydia and her husband Christophe Pertuzot, formerly of Domaine Leroy. Pernand sits in the shadow of the Corton hill, and its village Pinot Noir tends to be lighter, more floral, and more transparent than the heftier reds of Aloxe or Beaune just down the slope. That makes wines like this one a smart pour for drinkers who want classical Burgundy without the freight, and 2024, despite the headlines, delivered fresh, perfumed reds from growers who farmed carefully and waited.
