Old-school Hautes-Côtes white from a serious Chambolle address. Domaine Felettig is a second-generation family domaine — Gilbert (cellar) and Christine (commercial) Felettig run the 12.5-hectare estate their father Henri founded, with parcels scattered across roughly 100 plots from Hautes-Côtes to Grand Cru. The En Vallerot lieu-dit sits in the cool hills above Ladoix-Serrigny in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune — higher elevation, slower ripening, brighter acidity than the Côte itself. Hand-harvested, gently pressed, raised in barrel with a modest portion of new wood. The result is Chardonnay at proper Burgundy weight without the Côte d'Or price, with the mineral lift cool sites deliver. A weeknight white with weekend manners.

More about Felettig

Henri Felettig was a vineyard worker who started his own domaine in Chambolle-Musigny in 1974, piecing it together parcel by tiny parcel. Gilbert and Christine Felettig joined in 1993 and took it from honest-but-rustic to genuinely fine: farming went organic in 2013, and the wines now show real Chambolle perfume and polish. Today the domaine works about 12.5 hectares, including dozens of small parcels in Chambolle alone. Destemmed fruit, cool pre-fermentation maceration, careful élevage. A great value address in a pricey village.
