The domaine's flagship from a ripe, generous vintage. Denis Bachelet's Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes comes from old vines averaging 75-80 years, vinified destemmed with finesse the guiding aim since 1983. The warm 2015 vintage gave this old-vine cuvee extra flesh, depth, and concentration without losing balance. A decade on it is rich and harmonious, drinking well now with room to develop further.

"Dark red with ruby tones. Slightly porty aromas of plum, dark raspberry and spices; just this side of too much. Sweet and plush on the palate, with its red and darker fruit flavors complicated by spices and earth. Every bit as accessible as the Côte de Nuits-Villages today owing to its smooth tannins, but this wine has more stuffing. Incidentally, all of the Bachelet '15s were bottled with between 12.5% and 13% alcohol, following a bit of chaptalization to prolong their fermentations." —Stephen Tanzer

On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, deep and complete, with excellent concentration, succulent acids and rich structuring tannins.
