Division's flagship Pinot Noir is the Willamette in a single glass. Kate Norris and Thomas Monroe founded their Portland urban winery in 2010 after stages in the Loire, Beaujolais, Burgundy, and the Northern Rhone, and the "Un" cuvee is the one wine they assemble from multiple top sites each year, anchored by organically farmed Cassin Vineyard in Yamhill-Carlton and rounded out with fruit from Temperance Hill, Johan, and Jubilee. The result is a finesse-driven, vintage-character Pinot Noir that lands lighter on its feet than most: strawberry and red cherry, a whisper of woodsmoke, soft pie-crust texture, and tannins just firm enough to give the back end some push. Low-intervention, expressive, easy to love.

More about Division

Kate Norris and Thomas Monroe launched Division Winemaking Company in Portland in 2010, after time spent working in the Loire. Gamay is the heart of it, alongside Pinot Noir, Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc, sourced from vineyards in Oregon and Washington. Reds go unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulfur, and the wines aim to taste of their sites rather than of a house Oregon style. They're now among the biggest Gamay producers in North America.

Made for weeknight roast chicken with herbs, mushroom risotto, salmon off the grill, or a charcuterie spread with creamy cheeses. Light enough for vegetable-forward plates, structured enough for duck confit or a simple lamb burger.

Tasting Profile

Strawberry and red cherry lead, with a slight smokiness woven through pie-filling fruit. Medium-bodied and seamless, with moderate tannins and bright acidity. Aromatic, fresh, and immediately drinkable, but with real Willamette pedigree underneath.
