Single-vineyard Willamette Pinot from one of Portland's most interesting urban projects. Kate Norris and Thomas Monroe founded Division Winemaking Company in 2010 with a European-trained sensibility — they look as much to Burgundy and Beaujolais as to their Oregon backyard. Pinot Noir Yama comes from the Yama Vineyard in the Willamette Valley, a single-site bottling that channels Division's restrained, food-friendly house style. The 2023 vintage in Oregon was warm and concentrated, producing wines with ripe fruit and good structural backbone. Expect a Pinot in the lifted, perfumed register — red cherry and raspberry up front, with savory undertones of forest floor, gentle spice, and Oregon's signature volcanic mineral lift. A great drink-now Pinot that will also reward two or three years in the cellar.

More about Division

Kate Norris and Thomas Monroe founded Division Winemaking Company in Portland in 2010, dedicated to Gamay and other varieties that American winemakers overlook. Their rosé of Gamay is sourced from Washington's Yakima Valley and fermented with indigenous yeast in neutral tanks. They make approachable, balanced wines inspired by Loire, Beaujolais, and Burgundy. The largest maker of Gamay in the US.

Tasting Notes & Food Pairings

Perfect Pairings

Versatile Oregon Pinot for roast or grilled salmon, duck breast with cherry sauce, herb-roasted chicken, mushroom risotto, charcuterie boards, or aged goat cheese and washed-rind selections.

Tasting Profile

Medium-bodied, lifted and perfumed — red cherry, raspberry, forest floor, gentle baking spice, and that distinctive Willamette volcanic minerality. Bright acidity, fine-grained tannins, fresh, savory finish with quiet complexity.
