A village-quality Chardonnay at Bourgogne pricing — that's the trick the Millots have been pulling for years. The family has farmed in Meursault since the 19th century and the current generation keeps the style traditionalist and unhurried, letting fruit from old, well-placed parcels speak for itself. This Bourgogne Côte d'Or Blanc draws from vines just outside the Meursault village line, on gravelly soils that give the wine a touch more cut and earlier appeal than classic Meursault. The warm 2023 vintage adds richness, but native ferments and patient élevage in mostly used oak keep things textured and savory rather than showy. Yellow orchard fruit, a hazelnut note, lemon oil and a wash of crushed stone — a Bourgogne Blanc that drinks well above its station.

His eight hectares of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Aligoté in Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault are farmed to show terroir and vintage, not winemaker ego.
