An easygoing, organically farmed Loire red that overdelivers on charm. La Cerisaie is the Anjou Rouge from Domaine de la Bergerie, the Champ-sur-Layon estate now run by sisters Anne and Marie Guegniard, and it's pure Cabernet Franc grown on the schist soils of Anjou. This is the fresh, supple, fruit-forward face of Cabernet Franc rather than the firm, tannic style, made to be poured young and often. Organic farming keeps it lively and honest. Serve it with a slight chill and don't overthink it.

More about Domaine de la Bergerie

A family operation in Anjou's Côteaux du Layon since 1964, now run by sisters Anne and Marie after their father Yves. Mainly Chenin Blanc on schist and clay, but also Cabernet Franc and regional red blends. Anne's converting to organic, which means these wines will only get more interesting as the philosophy deepens.

Loire Valley Wines

The Loire Valley is France’s greatest source of value for anyone looking for elegant, terroir-driven wines. Our collection celebrates the region’s great diversity, with the mineral-driven whites of Muscadet and Sancerre, the beautiful Chenin Blancs and Cabernet Francs from villages like Vouvray and Chinon, and natural wines from everywhere in the region. Sometimes wonderfully fresh and gulpable, sometimes serious and age-worthy, the prices are always very reasonable.
