This is the wine that put Vidiano, Crete's revival white grape, on the map. Domaine Douloufakis sources Aspros Lagos (Cretan for "White Hare") from a single plot of Vidiano at the highest point of the estate's vineyards above the village of Dafnes, then ferments and ages it in barrel, a mix of acacia and French oak. Nikos Douloufakis trained as an oenologist in Alba, Italy, and brings real precision to one of the Mediterranean's most exciting indigenous varieties. The result is a textured, food-friendly white that drinks like a serious bottle from a far better-known region. A delicious passport stamp for anyone curious about Greek wine.
