Grenache almost never comes this light on its feet. Gramenon is one of the very few Rhone estates — Rayas and Richaud are the others we'd name — that makes the grape airy and delicate instead of big and roasted, and Poignée de Raisins, "a handful of grapes," is the domaine's most immediately drinkable bottling. It's 90% Grenache with a splash of Cinsault, farmed biodynamically by Michèle Aubéry-Laurent and her son Maxime-François on clay-limestone studded with galets roulés and sand, from vines running five to forty-five years old. Native-yeast fermentation, barely any sulfur, no fining or filtering — which is why it keeps that juicy, unpainted quality. Think of it as the southern French answer to a good Morgon: serve it with a slight chill and don't overthink it.
