On the nose, it’s classic Vougeot: black cherry, rose petals, baking spice, and a hint of forest floor. But Mugneret-Gibourg’s touch brings added lift and clarity—silky tannins, fine acidity, and a mineral edge that keeps it from ever feeling heavy. The 2022 vintage lends ripe, supple fruit, but also a clean, energetic frame that gives the wine direction and drive.

Clos Vougeot can sometimes feel monolithic—but here, it’s detailed and expressive, thanks to low-intervention farming, careful vinification, and the domaine’s deep respect for site. Founded in Vosne-Romanée in 1933, Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg has been carried by three generations of women. Sisters Marie-Christine and Marie-Andrée Mugneret run it alongside their mother Jacqueline, and the next generation has now joined. Just over eight hectares include Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Chaignots, Chambolle-Musigny Feusselottes and grand crus Échézeaux, Clos Vougeot and Ruchottes-Chambertin. Hand harvests, native-yeast ferments and bottling without fining or filtration give Pinot Noir of real purity and polish. Serious, sought-after Côte de Nuits.
