The village Chassagne is where you really get the Fontaine-Gagnard house style at a fair price — the bones of the great 1er Crus without the premium. Céline Fontaine has been guiding the twelve-hectare domaine since 2007, and the village bottling pulls from parcels around the appellation to give a fully expressive Chassagne: ripe orchard fruit, brioche and toasted nut on the nose, polish and breadth on the palate, fresh acidity threading the whole thing together. The cool, fresh 2024 vintage suits the house style well — lifted, mineral, and lively. A versatile village white that punches above its tier.
