This one spends its fourteen years in ex-bourbon barrels and then takes a finishing turn in new charred American oak — a move that pushes it hard toward vanilla, toffee and baking spice. Underneath all that sweetness it's still recognizably Glenfiddich: orchard fruit, honey, a clean malty core, no smoke. The result is a single malt with a bourbon drinker's handshake, which is exactly who it was built for. Drink it neat with a splash of water, or put it to work in an unusually good Old Fashioned.
