Caroline Lestimé of Domaine Jean-Noël Gagnard a delightful and vivacious woman with a wonderful sense of humor. Her house is in the center of the very important village of Chassagne-Montrachet. Caroline's tasting room is her salon and when you taste at her domaine it feels like you have been invited into her home. Tasting with her is very civilized. There is a little room off the side of the cellar where she has set up comfortable chairs around a low table and she serves you the wines in glasses in a relaxed setting.

Unlike Puligny (where the water table is too high), in Chassagne you can have a proper cellar underneath your home dug from the solid limestone bedrock. This limestone bedrock is what gives Chassagne wines such flavor.
