Jean-François Nicq, a geology graduate turned natural winemaker and Roussillon pioneer, crafts this fruit-forward red from organically farmed vineyards on gneiss and decomposed granite foothills. Octobre blends 90% Syrah and 10% Grenache through two weeks of carbonic maceration in neutral barrel, then bottles with no added sulfites in October of the harvest year. Bright blackberry and violet aromas lead to blackcurrant and savory spice on the palate; vibrant acidity and integrated tannins make it surprisingly elegant for such a chillable, juicy wine.
