A bourbon released the way wine is: batch by batch, year by year, with no pretense that this year is last year. Pinhook takes its name and its horse-racing imagery from Kentucky's other great obsession, but the philosophy is a blender's one, each annual release assembled to be its own thing rather than a carbon copy of the last. This is the 2025 release, dipped in orange wax. Kentucky straight bourbon is a legally serious phrase: new charred oak, a minimum of two years in barrel, and absolutely nothing added, no color, no flavoring, no shortcuts. Drink it neat to see what the blending team was chasing, over one big cube when the night calls for it, or in an Old Fashioned, where good bourbon does its most persuasive work.
